Killing Jake is not important, it only gives you two interesting scenes with him if he's alive, and one for if you kill him. I always keep him alive for mine, but I have to admit that getting to meet his Monster Parent is way too cool, so choose what you want to do.
Weird World has said that he really intended for a romance route with Mia, but, he shoot himself in the foot by making her look so young, since Patreon or some players could think she's underage or something. He'll change her design in 1.0 to finally make a romance route for her, though he hasn't said anything about cucking Jake.

About that, i think you forgot one thing: Character development. Yes, he was a loser, but so was basically Deryl and our MC when That-bully-i-forgot-the-name entered. It's part of his character begin as a weak fodder and grow in mind, body and maturity, even more respectable to do so when Mia got hurt by his own errors. In the end, Jake noticed all the things, and has grow to such point that almost killed MC and Deryl by himself just to fix his mistakes, fully accepting his death when defeated.

I also don’t know if MC has the firepower or the Battle IQ necessary to target and take out the crystals. Level 3 smokes it due to the heavy armor, and Deryl fight level two MC might win due to more experience and being a better strategist, but I don’t see Valravn battle MC beating the Leigong. However, human Michael absolutely couldn’t defeat Valravn, so it’s a matchup thing (Sorry for the paragraph).
Yep, JoiPlay works wonders, also allows for modding on Android, so I now often use it even when an Android version is available (assuming there are mods for the game)

There were several BIG bugs in the beta. In two instances, I had to go into the code and fix them manually. It should just be those and other fixes.
